Redefining Campus Safety.
Protection that follows every student.
SaferCity brings campus-wide panic response, live tracking, and emergency coordination into one app — protecting students, staff, and parents across South African universities.
SaferCity provides campus safety solutions for South African universities — including campus-wide panic alerts, live student tracking, and 24/7 emergency response coordination for students, parents, and staff. One app connects the entire campus community to armed response, SAPS, and medical responders, anywhere on or near campus.
For Lecturers & Educators
Protection that follows your teaching day
From late nights on campus to trips, travel, and emergencies in the lecture hall — SaferCity keeps academic staff one tap from help.
Travelling at Night
Lecturers often work late hours. The SaferCity app lets you call for security services instantly if you find yourself in a dangerous situation after dark.
On a Trip
Responsible for students on trips or events? In an accident or injury, a controller calls within 30 seconds and the nearest responder is alerted automatically.
Driving in South Africa
From smash-and-grabs to hijackings and accidents, our roads carry real risk. Call for assistance instantly and keep your family safe, wherever you are.
Emergencies at University
If a student falls or a situation turns dangerous, you no longer have to send someone to the office for help — call for assistance directly from the app.
LPR & AI Vehicle Tracking
SaferCity’s LPR cameras and AI provide real-time vehicle tracking, ensuring a quick response if a staff member’s vehicle is involved in an incident on or near campus.
For Parents
Peace of mind, wherever your family is
From live family tracking to medical emergencies and break-ins — SaferCity keeps you connected to help and to the people you love.
Family Tracking
Track your family 24/7 to know they’re safe and where they should be — and get notified the moment one of your children presses the panic button.
Robberies or Intruders
House break-ins are common in South Africa, and help can take hours. With SaferCity you know a responder is on the way — no separate security system required.
Travelling in Your Vehicle
Our roads carry real risk — smash-and-grabs, hijackings, accidents. Call for assistance instantly and keep your family safe wherever the road takes you.
Medical Emergencies
From a fall down the stairs to an injury on the sports field, fast help matters. SaferCity gets medical responders moving the moment you raise the alarm.
Physical Panic Button
If a phone is stolen, the physical panic button still sends a location to the control room — so they can track and reach you for assistance.
For Students

From walking home alone to mental health, GBV support, and emergencies on campus — SaferCity puts help one tap away, wherever the day takes you.
DEDICATED RESPONSE VEHICLES TO KEEP YOU SAFE?
Dedicated response vehicles are deployed to quickly assist students in emergencies, ensuring rapid support and enhanced campus safety.

PARTYING WITH OTHER STUDENTS?
University parties can be fun, but they bring risks like drink spiking and misconduct. With SaferCity, students can quickly call for help if a situation turns dangerous.

STRUGGLING WITH MENTAL HEALTH?
Pressure to study and demands from friends, family and lecturers can create stress, anxiety and depression. Reach out through our Wellness Desk and talk to a practitioner, 7am–7pm daily.

Questions & Answers
Campus safety, answered
Everything students, parents, and universities ask most — and how to bring SaferCity to your campus.
I’m a student (or on the SRC) and I want this at my university — what can I do?
Campus-wide SaferCity is usually a university decision — often through the SRC or Campus Protection Services. Whether you’re a student who wants to push for it, or an SRC member who can take it forward formally, the fastest start is to complete the short form: we’ll email you a ready-to-send motivation letter, tailored to your role, to forward to your SRC or university management. And you don’t have to wait — you can get the SaferCity app for yourself today.
I’m a parent and I want this at my child’s university — what can I do?
You can protect your child right now by setting them up on the SaferCity app — and you can help bring it to the whole campus. Complete the short form and we’ll send you a ready-to-send letter to forward to the university’s management.
How fast does help arrive when someone presses the panic button?
The moment the panic button is pressed, an alert goes straight to our 24/7 control room. A controller makes contact quickly and coordinates armed response, SAPS, and medical responders to the user’s live location. Response arrives within 5 to 8 mins depending on traffic and volumes.
Does it work off-campus too — travelling, at home, in residence?
Yes. SaferCity works wherever the user is — on campus, in res, travelling, or at home. The panic button and live location work anywhere there’s a mobile connection, so students and staff are covered well beyond the campus gates.
How does a university get started or roll it out?
A university adopts SaferCity campus-wide through a tailored rollout. The best first step is to request a proposal — SaferCity assesses your campus and presents how it would work, including 24/7 control-room response, dedicated response vehicles, and AI-assisted CCTV/LPR.
What does it cost, and how do students get the app?
Individuals can download the SaferCity Panic App and choose a plan on the SaferCity Panic App page. For campus-wide deployment, pricing is tailored to the university — request a proposal and we’ll put together a costing for your campus.
Is students’ location data private?
Yes — sharing is always within the user’s control. When someone triggers the panic button, their location goes to our control room and responders. Separately, if they switch on the Track Me feature, their live location is shared only with the members of their family group — never broadcast publicly or sold to third parties.
What devices does it work on?
The SaferCity app works on Apple (iOS), Huawei, and Android phones.
Is there support beyond emergencies — like mental health or GBV?
Yes. Alongside emergency response, students get a Wellness Desk to talk to a practitioner (available 7am–7pm daily) and a confidential GBV Chat Desk offering support, guidance, and assistance in cases of gender-based violence.
Does SaferCity replace or work alongside our existing campus security?
It complements your existing security — it doesn’t replace it. SaferCity adds a direct line from every student and staff member to a 24/7 control room, plus dedicated response vehicles and AI-assisted CCTV/LPR that work alongside your current protection services.
